(SOAP) 12. How to Check-In an Asset via the Mobile App
Using the built-in scanner is the fastest way to process returned equipment. Follow these steps to check an asset back into inventory:
Steps to Check-In:
- Open the Scanner: On the app dashboard, tap the QR Scanner button (located at the bottom center of your screen).
- Scan the Asset: Point your camera at the physical QR code label on the computer or device.
- Review Asset Details: The app will automatically open the Checked-Out Details page for that specific item.
- Inspect the Condition: * Check the device for any physical damage.
- If you find any issues, add a note in the Comments section.
- Take a Photo: If possible, use the app to take a snapshot of the damage for our records.
- Update Status: Select Check-In from the status drop-down menu.
- Note: The assigned user will be cleared automatically once this is selected.
- Finalize: Tap the Check-In button to complete the process.
Quick Tip: Always perform a quick function check (powering it on, checking the screen) before finishing the check-in to ensure the next user receives a working device.
Success! The asset is now marked as available in the portal and is ready to be redeployed whenever needed.
